The lady issue.

I’m speaking at Big Omaha this year, and I’ve been kicking around a few speaking topics with friends. A few of them (both guys and girls) have said that I should talk about women in tech.
Their suggestions were forward-thinking. It’d be great to interview a few women in tech and tell stories about our experience (both serious and funny), and why we think it’s still such an issue after all these years. I’d love to talk about how we can actually move the conversation forward, (because we’ve definitely stalled since I’ve been in the game) and talk about the value we bring to the industry and what we can do to fortify technology with more female entrepreneurs.
I’ve specifically not blogged about this, not because I don’t think it’s worth talking about, but because:
- it hits very close to home, personally and professionally
- I don’t want the early stages of building my company to be about anything but my company
I’m not sure if this is selfish (I feel strongly about supporting fellow ladies), but I don’t really want to go there, not yet. If I do I’ll have plenty to say, but I’m hoping the issue won’t be one for very much longer.
